Bury School Bees

Bury School Bees

Miss Willett and Mr Gatrell are our resident bee keepers and have been keeping honey bees at Bury school since 2020.

We have one hive which is inspected weekly by the children and Miss Willett and Mr Gatrell during bee keeping club.

Bee club is on a Thursday after school 3:15-4:30 and runs in the first half of the autumn term and the whole of the summer term.

The children wear their own bee keeping suits and are fully involved in inspections, colony management and honey extraction. Once extracted, the honey is shared across the school for all to enjoy!
