Visit to Tupper's Farm

Visit to Tupper's Farm

Kestrel class visited Tupper's farm in Bignor to see the new born lambs as part of their learning in science about Spring and the life cycle of animals.

We travelled to the farm on a trailer which was a very bumpy but exciting ride.  We had a chance to 'pet' the weaned lambs, some of the lambs were very cheeky!  Then we were very lucky to have a go at mixing milk for the orphaned lambs.  After that we walked around the field to see the ewes with their lambs.

Before we left the farm we walked quietly back to the barn  to see a lamb which had just been born a few minutes beforehand.  It was very cute and was being cleaned by its mummy.

Our focus for science has been looking at animal habitats, food groups and lifecycle.  The knowledge organiser gives an outline of the basic information we wanted the children to learn.
